According to Article 37 of Legislative Decree 81/08, the 12-hour high risk safety course is mandatory for all employers belonging to companies classified, according to their ATECO code, as high risk. The high risk safety course must be completed, together with the general training course, within 60 days from the date of employment.

The State-Regions Agreement of 21\12\11, states that the high risk safety training course must contain all the information concerning possible damage and accidents in the workplace: prevention and protection procedures to be implemented in the event of danger will also be covered during the course. Like the low risk and medium risk course, the specific high risk safety course does not include training in the use of work equipment and PPE.
